The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) has declared 2,250 applications automatically renewed after the Food and Drug Administration failed to act on those documents.
A Declaration of Completeness and Order of Automatic Renewal was issued to the Center for Drug Regulation and Research (CDRR) of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for 2,250 low risk to no risk Automatic Renewal Applications of Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) which were left pending at the end of 2020.
The order was issued following a visit by ARTA Director General Jeremiah Belgica last January 20, 2021 to the FDA office in Alabang and after ARTA’s warnings last year to the agency that all applications under automatic renewal must be renewed immediately. In the meeting and walk-through with FDA, ARTA was able to inspect and monitor the FDA office to see its compliance to R.A. 11032.

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) is looking at the Manila local government unit’s (LGU’s) Go Manila app to be the model for the mobile online portal initiative that the agency is proposing.
ARTA Director-General Jeremiah Belgica made the statement as the agency met with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and other Manila LGU officials to discuss ARTA’s findings on the capital’s Business One-Stop Shops (BOSS).
During their meeting, Belgica lauded the Manila LGU’s mobile app that aims to simplify the services and ease the conduct of transactions such that all services, including payment of utility bills.

THE red tape regulator said local government units (LGUs) are issuing high tax assessments to open up opportunities for corruption, and urged them to stay within the Department of Finance’s (DoF) assessment guidelines.
The head of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) told reporters of the irregularities after the regulator conducted surprise LGU inspections in Metro Manila and Antipolo City last month.
ARTA Director General Jeremiah B. Belgica in a mobile message Sunday said among the findings are complaints that LGUS have not been complying with the DoF’s procedures in proving gross sales or receipts.

Phase 1 of PH business registration portal goes live

Government agencies led by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) formally launched on Thursday, Jan. 28, the first phase of the Central Business Portal.
The project proponents said the CBP is being developed and deployed in phases, with the initial phase centered on an online, unified business application process. Upon completion, the CBP will be a one-stop-shop for all business-related transactions such as securing business permits, licenses, and clearances.
The creation of the CBP is mandated by Republic Act (R.A.) No. 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Services Delivery Act of 2018. The law aims to eliminate red tape, graft and corruption, promote transparency, and sustain ease-of-doing business.
