Marble works under siege   STRIKING workers of Best Cheer Investments have laid siege to the marble quarry and dimension stone processing facility in Kribib after they realised that Chinese nationals have been hired to do their work.   The workers have been on strike since last Monday and are demanding an increase in their salaries and housing allowances.   However, the workers have now laid siege to the facility in Karibib and are blocking the entrances to keep their replacement workers out.   The strike was organised by the Mine Workers Union of Namibia (MUN) after remuneration negotiations came to an impasse.     A MUN representative expressed disgust with the Chinese management’s decision to employ other Chinese nationals while the legitimate workers are on strike.
