That reconsideration came to a head last weekend when his parents visited his family at his Wellington home for the first time in more than a year. Seeing his aging father together with his school-aged son and daughter, he said, forced him to reassess.
By Tuesday, he had drafted and submitted a letter of resignation to the school board, putting the school district on a search for its fifth chief executive in 10 years.
“It’s time for me to take a step back and walk my daughter to her first day of kindergarten,” he said during an interview.
Fennoy plans to stay at the district’s helm until mid-October. In the meantime, school board members will be searching for a replacement.
