Police officer was pinned against his patrol car by quad bike that ran into him A quad bike rider whose vehicle ran into a police officer pinning him against his patrol car has been spared an immediate jail sentence. Judge David Hatton QC accepted that Faisal Hussain was genuinely sorry for injuring the officer who had seen him driving on the pavement in Ingleby Road, Bradford, and undertaking several vehicles. Hussain, 25, of Curzon Road, Bradford Moor, Bradford, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on a Polaris Scrambler quad bike on June 25 last year and assaulting a police constable acting as an emergency worker.
Jorden Rowbottom, 20, of Manor Road, Denton, Manchester, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court on Friday. Police were called around 4.15pm on July 18, 2019, after reports of an incident at the junction of Freckleton Street and the A583 Kirkham Bypass, close to Preston. Officers attended and Andrew Dean, 46, from Wesham, was found in the carriageway with serious head injuries. Sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr Dean had been driving a white Renault Master van westbound on the A583 when he was involved in an altercation with Rowbottom, who was driving a metallic blue Nissan Micra car. Both vehicles later stopped close to the junction with Freckleton Street and Mr Dean got out of the van to speak to Rowbottom, standing in front of Rowbottom s Nissan.
