Brockville will ask its neighbour for a rezoning to make the city’s pet cemetery legal, but will decide later whether it wants to continue providing the service.
City council this week voted to “authorize staff to proceed with the rezoning of the pet cemetery,” a concisely-worded directive that could prove complicated to carry out.

Leeds County Ontario Provincial Police arrested a Quebec resident wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after a collision north of Brockville on Thursday.
Provincial police received reports of a vehicle in the ditch on County Road 29 in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township, just before 4:30 p.m.

The driver was able to exit the ditch before police arrived and was observed heading north at a high speed, OPP said Friday.
The vehicle then collided with another vehicle stopped at a red light on County Road 29 in Rideau Lakes. Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to hospital.
