Elizabethtown, Northwest Regional police to receive grants for body cameras

Two Lancaster County police departments are in line to receive grants to pay to equip their officers with body worn cameras. Elizabethtown Borough Police Department and Northwest Regional Police have both been approved for grants from the Pennsylvania Commission of Crime and Delinquency. Elizabethtown police will receive a $16,525 grant, while Northwest Regional police will receive $10,955. The departments are required to match the grant amounts to fully fund the purchase of the cameras. Acceptance of the grants requires approval from Lancaster County’s commissioners, who are expected to sign off at Wednesday’s meeting. Dale Brubaker, grant specialist with the Lancaster County district attorney’s office, said that after being approached by one of the departments for help in applying for the grant, the county opened up the application and invited other departments to join. He said two other departments expressed interest but did not provide the required information

Elizabethtown man sexually assaulted, stalked teen: police

An Elizabethtown man sexually assaulted an underage girl and then began stalking her and entering her house while uninvited, according to the Elizabethtown Borough Police Department. Luis Zachary Fox, 19, was charged with 11 different child sex crimes — including statutory sexual assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse — burglary and stalking for activity police say began when he met a 14-year-old girl through SnapChat in late October 2020, according to an affidavit of probable cause. Fox had exchanged naked pictures with the girl through the social media app, falsely telling her he was 17, before meeting her near a park in the early morning hours of Oct. 29 to take her back to his Elizabethtown Borough residence where he sexually assaulted her, police said.

Missing Lancaster County teen found safely after 14-hour search

Updated: 2:29 PM EST December 17, 2020 LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. A 13-year-old Lancaster County boy who went missing Wednesday was located safely Thursday morning, Northwest Regional Police said in a press release. Adugna Levi Mohr, of Elizabethtown, was reported missing at about 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday, police say.  He was found around 9:20 a.m. Thursday by the owner of a business on the 1500 block of N. Market Street in the borough, according to police.
