ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – Kids can get up close to emergency and utility vehicles in a safe and supervised environment. The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a “Touch-a-Truck” event on Saturday at Shanklin Park from 10 am to 12 pm. Kids can explore public service, emergency, utility and construction vehicles at the park. Kiddos can touch, climb and ask questions about the vehicles from those who drive them. Accompanying personnel will be answering questions and also teaching kids about the vehicles and what they do for Elkhart County.

Man charged for possessing gun on Concord Schools property

Man charged for possessing gun on Concord Schools property ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. A man was arrested on Concord High School s property after he allegedly refused to leave when asked. Deputies said the man had a handgun in his possession at the time of his arrest.   A Concord School Police officer contacted the Elkhart County Sheriff s Office for assistance Tuesday evening after finding an agitated man at the front gate of the football field who refused to leave, reports said. The officer had repeatedly asked the man, later identified as 54-year-old Edd Willhelm, to leave the property, but he refused, reports said.

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information about the whereabouts of two people that are wanted by deputies, their Facebook page announced on Friday. Bria Lasha Wilson, pictured to the right, is wanted by the sheriff’s office for Violation of Probation. A no-bond warrant has been outstanding since Oct. 8, 2018, according to the sheriff’s office post. Her last known address includes 1022 Laurel Ct., South Bend and 1645 E Bowman St., South Bend.

Man facing charges for neglect, battery after allegedly slapping two-year-old across the face By: Maura Johnson ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A man is facing charges of neglect and battery after allegedly slapping a two-year-old across the face, according to court documents. At 2:09 p.m. on Tuesday, a deputy with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office arrived to a home in Goshen for reports of a child who had been injured. A woman in the home said when she left the home early that morning for work, the two children in the house were okay but when she returned home, she noticed the victim, a two-year-old, had red marks and bruising on her cheeks.
