What appears to be the flagship of the new line is the LG G1 Gallery Series, which features what’s known as an “OLED Evo” panel, and comes in a new screen size for LG, eighty-three inches.
LG Electronics has been perhaps the most respected name in TV the last few years, emerging as the leader in the OLED space. In RTINGS’s current rankings of the best TVs available on the market, LG OLED models take up the top six spots, and eight of the top ten.
In its CES virtual presentation Monday morning, with the theme “Life is On,” LG showed what to expect from the next generation of its OLED TVs.

At CES 2021, LG has announced the new webOS 6.0 UI for its 2021 OLED, QNED Mini LED, NanoCell and UHD smart TVs. It isn’t clear whether the new UI is limited to the new TVs only or whether it will come to existing 2020 or even 2019 flagships. LG has also unveiled a new Magic Remote. The new remote control not only sees a redesign but also has some functional changes as well.
LG Display Debuts EyeSafe-Certified Television Display
LG Display was formerly a joint venture between LG Electronics and Philips to make panels, although it was eventually spun off into a separate entity.
LG Display announced Wednesday, ahead of the launch next week of the 2021 International CES, that it will introduce what it calls the world’s first-ever Eyesafe Certified television display. The new TV will be featured as part of a 65-inch OLED display.
EyeSafe is a Minneapolis-based entity which, developed along with the German-based agency TÜV Rheinland. It’s described as “the world’s leading set of health-based requirements for the consumer electronics industry, developed in conjunction with over 250 leading ophthalmologists, optometrists, and engineers who have been conducting and analyzing clinical health and safety research on the impacts of exposure to high-energy blue light.”
