Sheriff Mike Hollinshead
It was reported to the Mountain Home News on Friday, January 8th that on January 5, 2021 Elmore County Sheriffs Office Detectives concluded a joint investigation with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The result of the investigation led to the arrest of two Glenns Ferry residents. Travis R. Hampton and Edwin D. Stone III were taken into custody on charges of Federal weapons and explosives violations. On January 6, 2021, a complaint was filed in federal court charging Hampton and Stone with the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition and aiding and abetting the same. That charge is punishable by up to ten years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000. A complaint is means of charging a person with criminal activity. It is not evidence. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
