U.S. News & World Report ranks Arkansas high schools

The U.S. News & World Report yearly ranks high schools throughout the nation. This year, the organization ranked Haas Hall Academy in Fayetteville as the best high school in the state out of 294 Arkansas high schools. The outlet published its results April 27. Here s a list compiling how well high schools in the area did.
Greenwood
Ranked #16
At Greenwood High School, 35% of the students took at least one AP exam, and 21% of those students passed at least one test. The graduation rate at the school is greater than 95%, and the U.S News & World Report found the school s reading proficiency to be 53% and its mathematics proficiency to be 52%.
The Yellville-Summit High School softball team swept a doubleheader Wednesday at Decatur. The Lady Panthers shut out the Lady Bulldogs 23-0 in the opener, and Yellville-Summit also dominated the late game 20-2.
Viola came away with a conference win on the road. The Lady Longhorns edged out Calico Rock by a final of 6-5.
Mammoth Spring was able to shut out Maynard in a conference doubleheader. The Lady Bears beat the Lady Tigers 14-0 and 12-0. Mammoth Spring improves to 14-3 on the season and 6-0 in the 1A-3.
Viola’s baseball team grabbed a conference win in front of its home crowd. The Longhorns blanked Concord 15-0.
Boozman’s emphasis on COVID-19 vaccinations comes on the heels of the senator’s bipartisan Strengthening and Amplifying Vaccination Efforts to Locally Immunize all Veterans and Every Spouse Act being signed into law. That legislation, also known as the SAVES LIVES Act, allows the VA to vaccinate all veterans, their spouses, caregivers and some dependents to the extent that vaccines are available, as well as urges the federal government to allocate more doses to the VA department based on this increased eligibility.
