Wake Forest Baptist Receives First Shipment Of COVID-19 Vaccine Published: 15 December 2020
Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Monday morning received its initial shipment of 2,925 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
The vaccine will be stored in an ultra-low temperature (-80° C) freezer until they begin offering the vaccine to their front-line health care workers.
Wake Forest Baptist will follow a phased vaccine approach, aligned with federal and state guidance, to prioritize health care workers based on their likelihood of exposure.
State health officials already have begun enrolling providers to administer the first batches of vaccines, including county health departments, hospitals, rural health centers and free clinics.
