Lawrence Wayne Sheets, 78, of North Wilkesboro, passed away, Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Sheets was born July 6, 1942, in Ashe County to Lillard Vaughn and Maurine Miller Sheets. Mr. Sheets was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Margret Carol Sheets. He liked to mow and garden. He loved helping other people. He was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church.
Mr. Sheets is survived by his wife, Daphene Watts Sheets; son, Jimmy Wayne and wife, Monica Parsons Sheets, of Millers Creek; grandchildren, Brianna Paige Sheets and Michael J. Smith Sheets, both of Millers Creek; brother, Paul Dean Sheets and wife, Carol, of Maryland; sister, Martha Sheets Whittington of Millers Creek; and special great-great-niece, Sarah Robinson.
