PENSACOLA, Fla. - Three men are being sought for questioning after a Kennesaw State University football player was gunned down in his car in the Florida Panhandle early Thursday morning.
Taziah Dekal McHenry, 20, Melvin Douglas Hester III, 18, and Nicholas Joseph Wells, 19, are being sought by the Escambia County Sherriff’s Office. Investigators reiterated they are only wanted for questioning in connection to the shooting death of 18-year-old Ladarius Clardy.
Clardy, a Pensacola native, was found shot to death by a bicyclist after his car crashed down an embankment along W. Fairfield Drive near Hollywood Avenue just after midnight Thursday, Escambia County Sheriff Chip W. Simmons said. More than 50 rounds were fired into the driver s side door, the sheriff said.

KENNESAW, GA Kennesaw State University quarterback Ladarius Clardy was slain early Thursday morning in an apparent drive-by shooting just hours after he arrived in his hometown of Pensacola, FL, authorities said.
Clardy, 18, was found shot to death in his car with another teen seriously injured in the passenger, sometime before 1 a.m., Escambia County (FL) Sheriff Chip Simmons told reporters Thursday afternoon. This was an intentional act, Simmons said. Someone fired over 50 rounds into the car … most of them into the car door … the driver s door.
No arrests had been made in the shooting as of 5 p.m. Thursday.
Condolences poured in from Pensacola s high school, college and professional athletes at the loss, a reflection of Clardy s considerable stature in the local community.
An electric dual-threat quarterback who graduated as Pine Forest s all-time leading passer, Clardy played collegiately with NCAA Division I FCS Kennesaw State University.
Clardy was also a track and field star at Pine Forest, winning the 200-meter region title and helping the Pine Forest boys track and field team to its first-ever team region title in 2019. He s my favorite quarterback of all time, Pine Forest teammate and current UAB football player Dacarrion McWilliams said. I have just been laying in bed all day thinking about how and why this could happen. He was my brother. We grew up together since we were little.

Ladarius Clardy, 18, of Pensacola, was found by medics after being flagged down by a bicyclist who saw his car crash down an embankment along W. Fairfield Drive near Hollywood Avenue just after midnight Thursday, Escambia County Sheriff Chip W. Simmons said.
