A Virginia man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend early Wednesday allegedly claimed he was attacked by the woman and another unknown assailant inside his apartment.
But police say physical evidence at the scene did not support Derek Edward Malevich s account of how 32-year-old Kristen Ann Bicking was killed.
Malevich, 40, was arraigned Friday in State District Court on a charge of intentional second-degree murder. Judge Robert Friday set bail at $1 million.
