On June 30th shortly before 4 a.m., CMPD officers located a vehicle wanted in a violent crime.
Officers attempted a traffic stop on the wanted GMC Terrain SUV on Interstate 277 near 3rd and 4th Street in Charlotte, but when the vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit ensued.
Police followed the GMC until the vehicle struck a 2014 Honda, with a green light, traveling west on S.C. Highway 160.
The GMC driver, 28-year-old Patrick McManus, failed to stop for a red light when he entered the intersection in South Carolina around 70-90 miles per hour, according to a news release.

Three Hurt In 8-Vehicle York County Crash On I-77

ROCK HILL, S.C. The Rock Hill Police Department says three people were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash Friday morning on Interstate 77 northbound in York County.
The collision happened shortly before 7 a.m. on I-77 north at the Exit 82 entrance ramp. During the time of the incident all lanes were closed and began to reopen around 8:30 a.m., according to reports.

Officers say the crash involved eight vehicles. One person was airlifted to Atrium Health-Main with life-threatening injuries while two others were transported by EMS for injuries sustained in the collision, police say.
