The Commission awarded fifty-four million, seven hundred and five thousand, six hundred and thirty two Naira, fourteen kobo (₦54,705,632.14) to the selected institutions.
According to the Commission, the tertiary institutions were selected based on best response to its request for proposal published on national dailies and on its website on July 2020.
According to the announcement on its website, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu, focused on ‘Innovative Clean Energy Technology’, with the research topic, ‘Development of all-weather solar system for energy optimization in a mobile communication based station’ and was awarded ₦10,147,000.002.

The Board of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp), Nigeria’s largest listed conglomerate and a leading investor in the energy sector, has announced the appointment of Mr. Victor Famuyibo and Mallam Ahmadu Sambo to its board of directors.
The appointment became effective from April 22, 2021.
The group, in a statement at the weekend, also formally announced the appointment of two new members of its executive management team: Mr. Vincent Ozoude, as MD/CEO of Trans-Afam Power Limited and Mr. Peter Ikenga, as MD/CEO of Transcorp Energy Limited.
Famuyibo joined the board with deep experience and knowledge in human resources and personnel management. He worked with multinational companies such as UAC Nigeria, Heineken International and Nigerian Breweries Plc, where he led numerous teams to drive strong employee engagement, the statement added.

“The quality of roads we saw in the rural areas, the massive dualized road in Nsukka; the primary and secondary healthcare facilities and even tertiary institution for the ESUT Teaching Hospital and College of Medicine, in Igbo-Eno, are impressive and commendable”, the President said.
