The government has declared ending violence against women as a national priority and will provide $1.1 billion towards safety measures, including new money to protect domestic violence victims and stop workplace harassment.
As part of its womenâs budget statement, which also brings in economic security and health measures, the government will boost funding for domestic violence services by $416.2 million over four years and provide $20.5 million to implement recommendations from Sex Discrimination Commissioner Kate Jenkinsâ Respect@Work report.
