This is why the War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Sault Ste. Marie is holding a scrap metal drive from June 7 through June 12. The drop-off spot is located in the parking lot at the corner of Nolte and Pine.
Normally, through their annual fundraisers, the Auxiliary raises close to 50-thousand dollars to put towards the hospital’s needs. They also offer a 3-thousand dollar nursing scholarship at Lake Superior State University.
“Anything we do that goes back to the hospital, we say you never know when your family is going to need that equipment or need that resource that is not available that we can make available…that will help them make their stay easier and more comfortable,” says WMH Auxiliary Vice President, Joyce Henderson. “The support from the community and hospital workers is wonderful!”

DULUTH Researchers hope to inspect the stomachs of as many as 10,000 fish from across Lake Superior in the coming year to find out what they are eating, but they need your help to get the job done.
