OUR ANSWER:That bus stop is one of many in Kamloops that are getting a makeover now that the City has hired a new contractor for its bus stops.
Transportation planner Erin Felker said the new company, Creative Outdoor Advertising out of Ontario, is replacing old bus shelters and benches with new ones this summer.
Not only is the North Shore market area getting new lights and some road improvements. Now it s getting an extension of the Rivers Trail along one stretch.
City transportation planner Erin Felker said Monday the sidewalk on the south side of Tranquille Road between Leigh Road and Royal Avenue will be transformed into a wider multi-use pathway.
The widening and improvements to transform the sidewalk will help connect the trail from the north end of the Overlanders Bridge to the side streets that lead to McArthur Island.
A public information session is slated for Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Wilson House, 115 Tranquille Rd., for anyone interested in seeing what the changes will look like or to have questions answered.
