Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of the Vietnamese mission to the UN, has called on stakeholders to fully enforce provisions in the long-term ceasefire agreement in Libya signed on 23 October, thus facilitating the transitional period towards elections in the country.
In an address to an online meeting of the UN Security Council (UNSC) on current issues in Libya on 15 December, Quy reaffirmed Viet Nam’s support for a comprehensive political solution led and owned by Libyans on the basis of respecting its independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
He welcomed important and positive developments in the country, especially the long-term ceasefire agreement reached by relevant parties and their consent to future elections.
