Surprisingly, Pakistan was not among the first countries that Joe Boden invited to participate in the summit to which courtiers as small as Bhutan and Jamaica received an invitation to participate. But then perhaps after a realization that Pakistan is not only the fifth largest country in the world in terms of population with over 220 million people, it is among the worst-hit countries by climate change as well; the Biden Administration sent an invitation to Pakistan. It is worth noting that Pakistan is also vice-president of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

Russia upholds international cooperation to address climate change: Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that his country advocates stepping up international cooperation in searching for effective solutions to the problems of global climate change. The fight against climate change requires united efforts of the entire international community, Putin said in an address to the Leaders Summit on Climate via video link on Thursday, Xinhua news agency reported. We believe that universal agreements reached under the auspices of the United Nations (UN) form a solid legal basis for international cooperation to control and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, he said. According to Putin, Russia is fulfilling its international obligations in this area with full responsibility, primarily regarding the implementation of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement.

He made the remarks in the U.S.-hosted Leaders Summit on Climate via video link. In his speech, Widodo urged world leaders to advance green development for a better world. He welcomed the 26th UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Britain for an implemented and balanced outcome, and the target of some countries towards net-zero emission by 2050, but reminded this must be carried out based on the fulfilment of the 2030 nationally determined contributions commitment.
