Meal Program Passes Out Thousands of Pork Loins to Iowans in Need December 19, 2020 7:11 am Saga Communications Iowa Falls, IA (Radio Iowa)– Several thousand Iowa families in need were given some extra help this month at putting food on the table. Iowa Falls based IOwa Select Farms wrapped up its “Operation Christmas Meal” program this week having passed out 17-thousand free pork loins at twelve events across the state. Jen Sorensen at Iowa Select Farms says there were long lines of cars and trucks at every stop after the pandemic made this year even more difficult. Iowa families that have never had to take items from a food pantry before are finding it more difficult to cope financially this year and those who were able to benefit from this program are making the free meat stretch as far as possible.
