The season is on the line Monday for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls soccer team when they travel to Solon to take on the state ranked Spartans. Mid-Prairie enters the match with an 11-5 record on the year after opening the regional tournament with a 10-0 mercy rule win over Columbus led by two goals each from Sophie Baker and Esther Hughes and two assists each from Kaitlin Martin and Evelyn Gerber. For the year, the Hawks are led by 21 goals for Hughes, eight assists for Martin and Emily Swartzentruber with 77 saves and a 74% save percentage in over 1,000 minutes in goal.

The Golden Hawks are ranked No. 4 in the first class 2A poll of the season released by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association. The Golden Hawks sport a team batting average of .382 and a team ERA of 0.74. The Hawks are led by Kayden Reinier hitting .636 with seven total hits, six runs scored and five RBI. Alex Bean and Keegan Gingerich are both 1-0 on the mound and have not allowed a run.
The Highland baseball and softball teams travel to Letts tonight to meet Louisa-Muscatine in conference action. Highland softball is 3-1 on the year, having swept a doubleheader against Hillcrest Academy Tuesday and beaten Lone Tree 17-0 on Thursday after a season opening loss Monday to West Burlington. Against the rival Lady Lions, the Huskies pounded out 15 hits for their 17 runs with Payton Brun and Abbi Stransky each posting three hits and three RBI. Mackinze Hora also drove in three. Grace Batcheller pitched three innings and allowed just one hit in the win. Louisa-Muscatine is 1-1 on the season after falling to class 5A Pleasant Valley 7-0 in their opener and beating Winfield-Mt. Union 7-0. McKenzie Kissel had four hits and two RBI against the Wolves to lead the offense, Kylee Sanders threw a complete game, nine strike out shut out to get the win in the circle.
