5G opportunities coming down the line for the high-tech sector With lower latency, faster speeds and greater load capacity, 5G will help businesses improve customer experience and drive growth Sponsored Article 23rd May, 2021 Researchers in the high-tech manufacturing sector will soon have access to Ireland’s first 5G standalone mobile private network (MPN), Dr Niall Aughney, director of digitisation, Irish Manufacturing Research, said. The 5G pilot line demonstration in Mullingar is being launched by Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR) and Vodafone Ireland and is expected to be operational in June this year. IMR is an independent not-for-profit manufacturing and industrial energy efficiency research organisation based in Dublin and Mullingar that employs more than 75 researchers.
