Hydrogen Europe responds to false accusations that label the association as an oil and gas ‘lobby’ and promotor of fossil fuels
Addressing such labels on Thursday (6
th May), Hydrogen Europe explained that in recent weeks and months, the association has been the target of repeated defamatory, false and unfounded statements, with the latest “attack” coming from a Friends of the Earth Europe report.
“We take these false and baseless statements accusations very seriously and we will be considering legal avenues against this defamation to protect our members and our vision,” Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, Secretary General of Hydrogen Europe, said.
In its recently released statement, Hydrogen Europe explains that considering the harm false and baseless claims can create, it is urged to highlight and provide fact- based information on some of the recently published statements and accusations.

More hydrogen bus deployments planned for Frankfurt, Germany
Thirteen brand-new hydrogen-powered Solaris buses are set to hit the roads of Frankfurt.
The European bus and trolleybus manufacturer today (4
th May) said it has won a tender call for the delivery of the Urbino 12 buses that are to be deployed on target routes next year (2022).
Such call was made by In-der-City-Bus which is in charge of public transport in Frankfurt.
Introduced in 2019, the Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen bus is capable of travelling 350 kilometres on a single hydrogen refuelling.
The bus incorporates an axle with two electric motors and is equipped with a climate control system utilising heat generated by the fuel cell module.
