Great Britain continued their domination of the 4x100m mixed medley relay at European Aquatics Championships with another brilliant gold medal in Budapest.
GB headed into the Championship having won the race at every Europeans since it was introduced in 2014, a streak they stretched as Kathleen Dawson, Adam Peaty, James Guy and Anna Hopkin blitzed the opposition.
Having the sport’s greatest ever breaststroker in Peaty and a swimmer who had broken the Championship record in the 100m backstroke earlier that evening in Dawson certainly helped but all four swam superbly to smash the European record with a time of 3:38.82.
Hungary Wins 15 Medals at European Aquatics Championships
Hungarian champions, both upcoming and well-known, finished the LEN European Aquatics Championships in Budapest with excellent results. Five gold, four silver, and six bronze medals were won by Hungary, placing it in sixth place on the continent.
The European Aquatics Championships, held at the Duna Arena in Budapest between May 10 and 23, finished with Russia, Great Britain, and Italy in the top three spots, with the only other countries that finished ahead of Hungary being Ukraine and the Netherlands.

Szabó Wins 50-Meter Butterfly at European Aquatics Championships
In an exceptional display of speed and athleticism, Hungarian sprint swimmer Szebasztián Szabó won the 50-meter butterfly at the European Aquatics Championships in Budapest.
In a very close race that kept fans on the edges of their seats, Szabó was able to fly ahead of his competition and finish with a time of 23.00 a hundredth of a second sooner than the Ukrainian Andrij Govorov.

While Szabó was not satisfied with his time, his accomplishment is made clear when considering that Govorov has made it to the podium of multiple world and European championships.
