Rosatom plans to enter service, maintenance market for foreign-designed NPP by 2030
MOSCOW. June 1 (Interfax) - Rosatom state corporation is considering possibly entering the service and maintenance segment of foreign-designed nuclear power plants (NPP) by 2030, according to the draft annual report of JSC Atomenergoprom, which consolidates the civilian assets of the nuclear industry.
In order to strengthen its positions in service and maintenance markets, Rosatom has initiated and continues to work on localization in key regions by creating partnerships and joint ventures with local market participants or by forming subsidiaries, the draft annual report said.
Specifically, a joint venture between JSC Rusatom Service and Hungary s MVM Group-European Power Services Ltd. began operations in 2020 to service and maintain the Paks and Paks-2 NPP in Hungary, as well as NPP with VVER reactors in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
