Air Partner’s JetCard deposits rise significantly Yves Le Marquand 23rd April 2021, 8:56 Air Partner’s Private Jets division has seen a significant year-on-year increase in JetCard deposits in February and March 2021. Growth was particularly strong in the US domestic market, which has seen a 500% increase in new JetCards sold year-on-year (YoY). The US business also recorded a 450% increase in deposits from new customers amounting to £300,000. Total JetCard deposits, from both new and existing customers, amounted to nearly £1.4m, a 30% increase on the same period last year. Industry on the move: Pilatus’ Oscar Schwenk to step down Yves Le Marquand 23rd April 2021, 2:58 Pilatus Aircraft chairman, Oscar Schwenk announced he will be stepping down this summer, but will remain with the company in a non-operational capacity. The news came at the company’s 2020 results release, Schwenk has been in the role since 2006. Joining Pilatus as an engineer back in 1979, Schwenk managed the company as CEO from 1993 to 2006 and then as chairman and CEO until 2012. In 2000, he took Pilatus out of the Unaxis Group to independent status with private Swiss shareholders. Schwenk has also been responsible for the PC-7 MkII, PC-9 M, PC-12, PC-21 and PC-24.

Kayanakis said supply chains are hard to manage in the best of times. “If we had one concern a year ago, it had to do with the supply chain. At the outset of the Covid-19 crisis, no one knew what the broader industrial effects would be. Our supply chain stretches across hundreds of suppliers on multiple continents.”

Aviation council created to accelerate SAF use Yves Le Marquand 16th April 2021, 3:16 A new organisation, Council on Sustainable Aviation Fuels Accountability (CoSAFA), has been created to accelerate business aviation’s adoption of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). Most SAF transactions to date have involved a limited number of SAF producers and operators, but according to the council there is increasing interest in “multiple-party purchase and deployment agreements”. CoSAFA wants to improve accounting practices documenting the production and use of SAF in such transactions – “a crucial tool for further reducing the industry’s carbon footprint” it said. CoSAFA leadership will include representatives from the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), International Air Transport Association (IATA), National Air Transportation Association (NATA), and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA).
