WSOCTV.com News Staff © Provided by WSOC Charlotte A 4-foot long alligator was spotted and caught near a church daycare on Monday in Cabarrus County. Deputies are trying to figure out how an alligator ended up near a church daycare in Cabarrus County. Just before 2 p.m. on Monday, deputies got a call from a daycare worker on Odell School Road in Concord reporting that an alligator was in a culvert near the daycare. North Carolina Wildlife Senior Officer Zach Allman was one of the officials who responded to the unusual call.

Amy Michelle Jones is tired of folks speeding near the intersection of Odell School Road and Windy Road in Cabarrus County.  Jones has owned acres of farm land near that Concord intersection for nearly 20 years and frequently walks her horses near there. She says drivers are using Odell School Road as a shortcut to get to Mooresville, Charlotte or I-85 rather than using Kannapolis Parkway, a four-lane divided highway just a few miles up the road.
