RAK to receive direct commercial flights from Ukraine from 25 June 2021
RAS AL KHAIMAH, 24th May, 2021 (WAM) Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) announced a strategic partnership with national carrier Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) that will activate direct commercial flights from Ukraine to the Emirate from 25 June 2021.
The move will see Ras Al Khaimah welcome twice weekly flights from capital city Kyiv to Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, opening up the Emirate to another key international market – the largest all-European country – as travel restrictions continue to ease. With flight frequency set to increase in the near future, UIA will be the first airline from Ukraine to fly into Ras Al Khaimah and the latest in a series of strategic aviation partnerships established by RAKTDA to drive growth into a dynamic and developing destination.

The UAE has given birth to five conceptual artists who formed its first generation of contemporary artists in the early ‘80s, and artist Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim is one of them. The 58-year-old Khor Fakkan native is part of the UAE’s first generation of artists, those who dared back when visual arts were not seen as culturally valuable and weren’t even taught at university.
And yet, this once-police officer gave up a serious practice in 1986 for a world of color and expression upon meeting his mentor, the late artist Hassan Sharif. He then became a founding member of the Emirates Fine Art Society and created Art Atelier at the Khor Fakkan Art Centre.
Syria Vows Israel Will Pay a Price Over Oil Tanker Attacks

Syria s foreign minister pointed blame at Israel for mysterious attacks which targeted oil tankers headed to Syria that have been happening for over a year, the Associated Press reported. There should be deterrence to Israeli attacks on ships. The Israeli governments and arrogant Israeli leaders must understand that these attacks cannot continue with Israel not paying a price, said Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad in an interview with Lebanon-based Al-Mayadeen TV.
Mekdad said that oil tankers coming to Syria are now under Russian protection, but did not provide any evidence explaining how Israel was behind the attacks.
