‘Rise in COVID-19 cases causing worry among teachers’
Leaders of the A.P. United Teachers’ Federation (UTF) on Tuesday urged the government to halt supply of school kits, being distributed to students under the Jagananna Vidya Kanuka, in view of the sharp spike in COVID-19 cases in the State.
In a statement, federation’s State president N. Venkateswarlu and general secretary K.S.S. Prasad said the unprecedented rise in infections triggered panic among the teachers tasked with arranging the kits for distribution.
They said that the pandemic had so far claimed the lives of nearly 200 teachers in the State. Many teachers and their family members were undergoing treatment for the virus.

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee(APCC) launched free ambulance service in Anantapur on Wednesday with party State president Sake Sailajanath formally flagged off the vehicle, to be driven by a party worker. The service is going to be launched all over the State soon, party members said.
Helpline The party, taking help of its youth wing leaders from National Students’ Union of India(NSUI), launched a Statewide COVID Control Centre manned by four of its leaders Naresh Yanumala (Phone number-8885858001), Sankar Yadav (7396746667), Manjula Deepthi (9704727352) and Fakruddin (9989752910). People can dial these numbers for any kind of support, he said.

Telangana: SSC board likely to reduce exam papers to six Final decision in this regard is awaited.

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Board of Secondary Education is likely to reduce the number of papers in the final boards to six, from the previously existing eleven, reports said on Thursday. Final decision in this regard is awaited.
Keeping in view of the current situation which involves online teaching the board mulled to reduce the reduction of papers for the students appearing board exams. A proposal has also been sent to the state government.
Besides, the government is planning to reopen schools and other educational institutions either in the first week of January or after Sankranti (January 15). The classes are likely to be conducted for Class 9 and above.
