The United Insurance Company announced joining hands with the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance as part of a corporate sponsorship project within the BIBF new building in Bahrain Bay.
The agreement sees a study hall named after the United Insurance Company at the BIBF’s new state-of-the-art building, with an expected inauguration later this year to serve the training needs of the financial sector in Bahrain and beyond. On this occasion, the Manager of United Insurance Company, Maysa Al Kooheji, stated, “This initiative comes in line with our vision to prepare well-educated generations, with specialised skills to continue advancing the Insurance sector in Bahrain.”

Chief Samuel Sunday Obaro who died on March 11, 2021, was born on the 6th of November 1938 in Igarra, the headquarters of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area in Edo State. He was the fourth surviving son of Okomayin Joseph Izuse and Mrs. Abigail Owanza Obaro of the Eshinavaka Royal Family. His paternal grandfather was the son of Otaru Aibobo and his mother was the sister of Otaru Idanage.
It was about the time of Samuel’s birth that Apostle Joseph Balalola, the founder of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) visited Igarra for evangelization. His father and mother were converted to become Christians and were subsequently baptized and became founding members of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Igarra. Chief Obaro attended the CAC with his parents from a tender age and remained a devout member of the church till his death. His mother was “Iya-ijo” of CAC until her death. Little Samuel was the first baby to be christened in the Christ Apostolic Church in 1938.
Upasana Poudel has made history as the first female Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of an insurance company in Nepal.
She bagged the record after the United Insurance Company (Nepal) Ltd. appointed her as the company’s CEO for the coming four years.
Ms. Poudel, at 34, is also the youngest to hold the highest position in the nation’s insurance sector.
As an MBA graduate from Delhi University, India, Poudel has more than a decade of experience in the insurance sector. Before being appointed as CEO, she was serving as Deputy CEO of the company.
After completing her bachelor’s degree in 2012, Poudel worked in India for various companies, including Vodafone, Bharti Axa General Insurance, and ICICI Lombard General Insurance in Mumbai.

The Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association has complained that the full daily rental was not being paid for private hospital wards for non-critical COVID-19 treatment, for government employees and pensioners covered under the New Health Insurance Scheme.
It’s Virudhunagar district vice-president, C.E. Kannan, said that the Government Order 280 dated June 24, 2020 had fixed a ceiling of ₹9,500 per day and pharmacy charges for COVID-19 cases for treatment in category A1 and A2 private hospitals. The ceiling for treatment given by other private hospitals (categories A3-A6) is ₹7,500 per day and pharmacy charges.
