The driving force behind this newly minted four-wheel drive is Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is one Britain’s wealthiest people. A chemicals magnate, Ratcliffe also happens to be an enthusiast of old school four-wheel drives. In particular, he has a penchant for the Land Rover Defender. Ratcliffe’s wealth comes from the giant global chemicals company Ineos, of which he is chairman. The company was founded by Ratcliffe in 1992, and turned US$91 billion in revenue in 2019.
