NEW DELHI: United Kingdom foreign secretary Dominic Raab on Tuesday said that the UK and India are committed to building a stronger defence partnership between the two countries which would help to tackle shared issues like terrorism, maritime security and privacy. We want to deepen our economic partnership we already have a strong trade relationship. In the year before the pandemic hit, bilateral trade between India and UK grew at a vibrant 11 per cent. Now what we want to do is to take that to another level working towards a green and enhanced trade partnership, Raab said at a joint statement following the India-UK ministerial dialogue.

India, UK agree on key elements of 10-year roadmap to broaden ties PTI New Delhi: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will visit India next month to attend the Republic Day celebrations as the chief guest. This announcement was made by UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab here Tuesday. Dominic Raab shared the information at a press conference after holding talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. During the meeting the two sides agreed on the key elements of an ambitious 10-year roadmap to further broaden ties, and also boost strategic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. In their wide-ranging talks, Jaishankar and Raab also discussed having an ‘Enhanced Trade Partnership’ by next year that could be a stepping stone towards a future free trade agreement.
