United Federal Credit Union names Kristin McCarthy branch manager at Bremen Highway branch in South Bend
ST. JOSEPH, MI (May 7, 2021) United Federal Credit Union (United) has named Kristin McCarthy to the position of Branch Manager at its Bremen Highway branch in South Bend at 3630 Bremen Highway.
As Branch Manager, McCarthy will be responsible for maintaining the performance of the branch, and providing leadership and supervision to staff.
McCarthy brings nearly 20 years of banking and financial experience to her new role. Prior to her role with United, she held several roles for INOVA Federal Credit Union in Elkhart, including the Director of Member Service Center and Branch Manager. She studied at Indiana Tech and has an associate of science degree in business administration and management.

Shareholders and regulators approved United Federal Credit Union’s previously announced acquisition of Edgewater Bank.
The Business Journal reported in October that St. Joseph-based United Federal Credit Union (United) signed an agreement to acquire the assets and liabilities of Edgewater Bank (Edgewater), also based in St. Joseph, pending customary approvals by shareholders of both institutions and federal regulators, which were obtained in April.
Under the transaction, Edgewater locations in downtown St. Joseph, Royalton Township, Coloma and Bridgman were converted to United branches beginning Monday. Two commercial loan offices one in Greenville and one in Fremont also became United locations on Monday. Due to its proximity to United’s Buchanan branch, Edgewater’s Buchanan branch and its employees will be consolidated into the United branch. All Edgewater customers will be allowed to become members of United.

BWE will be held from Sunday, August 1 to Saturday, August 7, 2021. Traditionally held at the beginning of the summer, BWE officials pushed the event back in anticipation of reduced COVID-19 infection rates.
