BY: Loop Author 12:00, May 31, 2021 91 reads A US$2.8 million (K11,695,000.00) Sustaining Peace through Economic Empowerment Project in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (ARoB), was launched yesterday, Friday 28 May, 2021. The project supports the implementation of the Bougainville Peace Agreement toward economic growth and development. It was launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Papua New Guinea, the National Government and the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG). Funded by the Government of Japan, the Project is designed to support the ongoing Bougainville peacebuilding process for political and economic progress. The project will support the establishment of innovation centers that create opportunities for entrepreneurs, business development, and life skills.

This was tailored to reflect the unique challenges women face, and work with the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affair to ensure women’s and girls’ voices are heard and included when adopting the Bill.
