The Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has called on the country s development partners to increase their support for the education sector.
That, he said, was to ensure that the sector became more robust to produce the right human resource to speed up the transformation of the country.
Dr Adutwum said this yesterday in his opening remarks during a meeting with representatives of development partners in Accra.

“Education should be seen as a means to an end and not as an end in itself. We are not just training the children, we are training them so that they would be good citizens who will transform the fortunes of our country.

Mercy Corps in partnership with African Executive Leaders Solutions (AELS) have today launched an online work employment platform, Ichuzz2work to provide job opportunities to refugees. The platform in its pilot mode is set to run for five months and will create work opportunities for refugees in informal settlements in Makindye and Kawempe divisions in Kampala.

UNHCR Provides Intensive Care Unit Supplies to COVID-19 Treatment Hospitals [EN/AR]

The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) announces today that, in coordination with national health authorities, and in solidarity with the people of Iraq, it is providing Intensive Care Unit (ICU) sets to COVID-19 treatment hospitals in 7 Governorates, complementing efforts undertaken by other partners.
As part of ongoing efforts to enhance COVID-19 treatment responses, UNHCR delivered and supported the installation of 23 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) equipment sets in 7 Governorates including Erbil, Duhok, Suleymania, Kirkuk, Anbar, Diyala, and Salahaldeen. The ICU sets consist of ventilators, electric ICU beds, monitors, nebulizers, syringe pumps, infusion and suction pumps, and oxygen regulators. The ICU equipment will serve many of the host community, refugee and internally displaced (IDP) families living in the 7 Governorates.
