The nation’s polity is twitching sequel to the extension of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) membership registration and revalidation exercise for a second time.
This is especially as some top shots and power brokers in the party are said to be uncomfortable with the development. But party officials say it is geared towards providing opportunity for more Nigerians to register with the party.
There are feelers that some APC bigwigs had tactically threatened the success of the exercise by allegedly hoarding materials and hijacking the process in some states in order to gain political capital.

Antigua and Barbuda’s Chief Health Inspector has been bestowed the prestigious award of ‘Outstanding Woman’ by the United Progressive Party (UPP).
Sharon Martin is one of the most familiar faces on the forefront of the Covid fight, and for the last 12 months, she has quietly gone about her duties which include helping keep the nation safe from the coronavirus with little complaint or acknowledgement.
The award was conferred on the Health Inspector for her outstanding contribution to the public health industry for the past 40 years.

The stage was set for a big outing. Seemed, the United Progressive Party (UPP) was ready and
rarin’ to present its thoughts on where we ought to be headed in this Covid-19 period. The prevailing sentiment – one even shared by supporters of the Antigua Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) – is that this administration has left Antiguans and Barbudans, the most vulnerable among us, to twist and be buffeted by the dreadful Covid winds. No relief. No Stimulus. No meaningful intercession on behalf of the poor in any number of areas.
Nada! So, as you can imagine, we were all waiting with bated breaths on the first-of-its-kind virtual public meeting, to hear a critique of this administration’s handling of the crisis, and plans for how the UPP could mitigate its dreadful effects on the lives and livelihoods of so many Antiguans and Barbudans.
