Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston recently received a donation of iPads and Android Tablets.
After experiencing the heartbreaking loss of their father, a Buckhannon family has provided the valuable gift of communication to COVID-19 patients at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston and Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown.
Their donation of iPads and Android tablets will provide other families the opportunity to stay connected while staying apart from their loved ones hospitalized with COVID-19.
Tex E. Walton was admitted to the hospital with COVID-19 on Oct. 7, 2020, and succumbed to the virus on Oct. 20. His daughters, Sheila Perry and Pam Johnston of Buckhannon, could only communicate with him through cell phone and other devices.

Offering World-Class Health Care
Looking around Wheeling Hospital, its inclusion into the West Virginia University Health System is obvious.
The “Flying WV,” the logo synonymous with WVU, can be found prominently and abundantly. Yet, Wheeling Hospital CEO Douglass Harrison said that the hospital joining the WVU team is much more than a cosmetic change. It’s a change that he feels will benefit Wheeling and the Ohio Valley immediately and well into the future.
“You’re joining a world-class academic health center and health system,” Harrison said. “As a part of that, WVU medicine will provide the resources necessary to make sure Wheeling Hospital is successful. If you look around our system, every hospital that we’ve brought in, if you look from day one and look through a three-year scope, you’ve seen growth.

BUCKHANNON St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur will hold a “Save Lives-Feed Families” blood drive on Tuesday, March 30 at the Event Center at Brushy Fork in Buckhannon.
Social distancing and the cancellation of many blood drives has created an urgent need for healthy, eligible people to donate blood.
The blood will be drawn by Vitalant, the blood supplier for St. Joseph’s Hospital and United Hospital Center. Testing will also be done for antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
As part of the blood drive, Vitalant will donate monies to the Upshur Cooperative Parish House Food Pantry for each blood donation made that day. An area will also be set up to accept donations of food for the food pantry by donors and the general public. Items needed are non-perishable foods including canned vegetables, canned beans, and grape jelly.
