DHS Secretary Defends Biden Admin’s Handling of Border Crisis
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has defended President Joe Biden’s handling of the conditions at the U.S.-Mexico border despite criticism from Republicans.
Speaking during a Senate hearing on May 13, Mayorkas touted the progress the administration has made to move unaccompanied migrant children out of crowded border stations, and noted that the number has dropped in recent months.
Mayorkas said children were staying in border patrol stations for too long “because the prior administration failed to increase the Department of Health and Human Services’ capacity to receive the unaccompanied children from border patrol stations within the required timeframe.”

During a primary presidential debate, Joe Biden told migrants to surge to the border. Biden said, if I become president we immediately surge to the border, all those people seeking asylum, they deserve to be heard. That s who we are. Thousands listened. The United States Border Patrol is overwhelmed. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement is also overwhelmed. So are immigration courts.
It s a crisis.
A crisis is defined as an unstable or crucial time or state of affairs in which a decisive change is impending.
The Biden Administration is ignoring this crisis.
That s step one in their crisis management strategy. Ignore it. Step two is to downplay it. Time and time again the Biden Administration trots out Department Of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas or Spokeswoman Jen, Um, Psaki to say they are clearing up the backlog.

(CNSNews.com) – The Biden administration has given up the practice of issuing citations for appearance in immigration court for migrants that illegally enter the U.S., Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said on Sunday.
“It shows the president’s, President Biden s approach to this, and that is to abandon the rule of law,” Abbott told Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”
