DIGHTON A plan to resolve the controversy over whether the gay pride flag should fly at Town Hall year-round remains in limbo.
Selectmen took no action this week in response to a recommendation the flag should fly at Town Hall only during national Gay Pride Month, in June.
Ken Pacheco, who is both a selectman and a member of the town s Human Rights Committee, announced the Human Rights Committee s recommendation for a June Pride flag display at the March 10 Selectmen s meeting.
But the selectmen took no immediate vote.
Selectmen Chair Brett Zografos, who has expressed support for flying a gay pride flag at Town Hall year-round, explained it wasn t an action item on the agenda and there are other, higher priorities the town must tend to first.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) On the twelfth day of the new year in 1971, South Carolina lawmakers ascended on the capital city for the opening session of the 99th General Assembly. But for three African American men it was a Tuesday of historical proportions a symbol of progress since the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
James Felder, Isaac Samuel (I.S.) Leevy Johnson and Herbert Fielding entered the State House as the first elected Black lawmakers to serve in the Legislature since the turn of the 20th century.

A group of Virginia residents is fighting against Fairfax County after the county proposed a zoning amendment that would limit how people may display the American flag. GFCA believes that the display of the United States flag should be exempt from this Ordinance, and we have attached a resolution in support of that position that was adopted by our board on February 16,
The zoning amendment was introduced to make flag displays more uniform, with the county currently not having any zoning regulations related to flags.
But the GFCA said the zoning ordinance is “too restrictive,” forcing residents to display the American flag in the same way that all other flags are displayed.
