The United States Department of Education is funding Educational Credit Management Corporation Project Success, a three-year project to retain and graduate students at NMSU. The Enhancing Missouri’s Instructional Networked Teaching Strategies, or eMINTS, National Center at MU College of Education educates fifth grade students about computer coding and motivates them to show an interest in STEM.
According to a press release, the United States Department of Education has spent the $ 3.9 million education innovation and research grant that eMINTS uses to generate interest in computer coding and STEM through video games.
eMINTS will prepare and support educators through lesson creation coaching to teach students how to create their own video games. Kansas City Audio-Visual will provide computers to rural Missouri school districts with high percentages of students with financial needs.

Joseph R. Biden, Jr. was inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States on Jan. 20, 2021. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact nearly every aspect of American life, President Biden has prioritized development of a comprehensive and effective COVID-19 response and pandemic preparedness plan. On his first full day in office, the President released the “National Strategy for the COVID-19 Response and Pandemic Preparedness.”
[1] This plan provides, among other things, guidelines and implementation strategies for launching a nationwide vaccination campaign and mitigating the spread of COVID-19, with a goal of safely reopening businesses and schools across the country.
