A year into the COVID-19 pandemic, Siskiyou County residents continue to see high daily case numbers and positive test rates while people wait their turn to get a vaccine.
While those age groups and occupations deemed most vulnerable to the virus are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, supplies and staff to administer shots are limited, public health officials said. That’s slowing down vaccination efforts.
Meanwhile, business restrictions are in place, as are other policies, to reduce spread of the disease.
On Thursday, Siskiyou County’s average daily case rate per 100,000 people was 14.6. It’s average test positivity rate over the past two weeks was 12.3%.
The US Census lists over 500 incorporated municipalities in this state. So, as you can see from the map, most of the edits for this challenge will be new points that volunteers add.
