California to lose a House seat based on 2020 Census numbers

According to numbers just released by the United States Census Bureau, California will have one fewer seat in the House of Representatives after the 2022 Congressional election. Altogether, seven states will lose a seat. Six states will gain a seat, with Texas gaining two seats. Thirty-seven states will see no change in the number of their representatives. They do not have Congressional representation. Information for redistricting will be made available by August 2021, with information delivered to all states at once.
