Another big piece in the USA Wrestling calendar is in place. U23 Nationals are headed to Lincoln Nebraska on Memorial Day weekend.

Team USA s men s Cadet and Junior teams are set, we ll know the women s teams this weekend after Women s Nationals, and now we know the official date of the U23 National Championships where the U23 World Teams in men s freestyle and Greco-Roman will be determined. USA Wrestling has announced that the U23 National Championships for men will be held at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in Lincoln, Neb., from Thursday, May 27 through Saturday, May 29.

There are 12 wrestlers competing this weekend at the 2021 Senior and Junior Nationals at the Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa that have ties to Nebraska. The 10 winners at the junior level will earn Junior World Team spots, while the top five finishers at the senior level qualify for the 2021 Senior World Trials later this year.
Former Husker standouts Tyler Berger and James Green are both competing at 70kg (154 pounds) at the senior level, while Christian Lance is competing at 125kg (276 pounds).

A new, free wrestling academy for kids is opening in Hastings this May.
Calvary Hawke s Bay pastor and certified wrestling coach Eric Flores wanted to open Golgotha Grappling Academy as part of his church outreach to share the benefits it has had in his life with local kids.
In February Eric moved to Hastings from Whangārei, where he had coached at the Lions Den MMA gym.
