GOSHEN - A suspect in the shooting death of a Newburgh man last September was arraigned in Orange County Court on Tuesday after he was arrested earlier in the day.
Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler said Joshua Williams, 31, of Newburgh was arraigned by County Court Judge Robert J. Prisco on an indictment charging him with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment, all felonies.
Williams is accused of causing the death of Jamie Fincher by shooting him on Liberty Street in the city of Newburgh on Sept. 19, 2020.
Hoovler said it is also alleged that while firing the gun, Williams, under circumstances showing a depraved indifference to human life, recklessly engaged in conduct which created a grave risk of death to other people at the scene.
