Six people arrested for allegedly helping inmates escape from the Merced County jail

Jan. 20 The Merced County Sheriff s Office arrested six people accused of helping inmates escape from the Merced County jail on Jan. 10.
The arrests were made by the Merced County Sheriff s Office, The United States Marshals Service, and the Department of Justice. Over the past week, investigators have learned that friends and family members of the escapees aided in their escape during and after their incarceration, the Merced County Sheriff s Office stated in a social media post.
Deputies identified those arrested as Sonia Montes, 46, of Merced, Elvira Aleman De Montes, 66, of Atwater, Alexia Hernandez-Ramirez, 20, of Atwater, Arthur Quirarte, 19, of Atwater, Rosario Coronado, 41, of Merced, and Raheem Hill, 28, of Merced.

LORAIN, Ohio The United States Marshals Service has arrested a shooting suspect within hours of the alleged crime.
Authorities claim 25-year-old Luiz Roman was riding a bicycle Wednesday evening near Washington Avenue when he fired a gun into a moving car before fleeing the scene. An unidentified male victim inside the car was shot in the head, and his condition is unknown at this time.
Acting with the Lorain Police Department, members of the Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force located Roman inside a home on East 29th Street in Lorain. He was taken into custody without incident.

U.S. Marshals Offering Reward For Information Leading To Arrest Of Suspects In Hickory Murder

The United States Marshals Service is now involved in the search for an Alexander County couple wanted in connection to the murder of a woman one week ago in Hickory. 49-year-old Tangela Louise Parker and 61-year-old Eric Carroll Parker, both of Taylorsville, are wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of 51-year-old Phelifia Michele Marlow.
The shooting occurred at 2:30 last Wednesday afternoon (January 13) at T.C.S. Designs on 9th Avenue N.E. in Hickory. The shooting was the result of a dispute between two employees. Officers found the victim in the business suffering from gunshot wounds. Ms. Marlow was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem where she passed away as a result of her injuries.
