Lonnie Coffman, Alabama man arrested at DC riot, had homemade napalm in Mason jars, feds say

The 70-year-old Alabama man arrested during the Capitol riot is now among 13 people who have been charged federally.
Lonnie Coffman is charged with possession of an unregistered firearm (destructive device) and carrying a pistol without a license. Authorities contend that Coffman’s vehicle contained 11 Molotov cocktail explosive devices and guns.
“The lawless destruction of the U.S. Capitol building was an attack against one of our Nation’s greatest institutions,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Michael Sherwin.
“My Office, along with our law enforcement partners at all levels, have been expeditiously working and leveraging every resource to identify, arrest, and begin prosecuting these individuals who took part in the brazen criminal acts at the U.S. Capitol. The United State Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday announced 13 suspects have been charged in federal court following Wednesday s riots at the Capitol, including a man from North Alabama.
Lonnie Coffman of Falkville was arrested Wednesday and charged on Thursday with possession of an unregistered firearm (destructive device) and carrying a pistol without a license.
According to the DOJ, “it is alleged that Coffman’s vehicle contained 11 explosive devices known as Molotov cocktails and firearms.” He’s also accused of being in possession of two firearms.

Troy Anthony Smocks was arrested in Texas on Jan. 15, 2021, and charged with threats in interstate commerce.
Robert Bauer was arrested in Kentucky on Jan. 15 and charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful entry; violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds
Damon Michael Beckley was arrested in Kentucky on Jan. 16 and charged with unlawful entry of a restricted building; disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds
Bryan Bentancur, of Maryland, was arrested on January 17 and charged with knowingly entering restricted buildings or grounds; unlawful activities on Capitol grounds; disorderly conduct; unlawful activities on Capitol grounds, parades, assemblages and display of flags
WASHINGTON The man photographed sitting at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s desk during Wednesday’s riots in the US Capitol is one of 13 charged in federal court so far, officials said Friday.
Richard Barnett was taken into custody Friday morning in Little Rock, Arkansas, and charged with theft of public property, knowingly entering and remaining in restricted building grounds without authority, violent entry, and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
A resident of Alabama was also charged in connection with the pipe bomb found on the south side of the Capitol building. Eleven Molotov cocktails and military-style weapon were found in his pickup truck, officials said.
