The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) made the move Thursday to ease indoor mask-wearing guidance and social distancing rules for the approximately 117 Americans who have received both doses of the vaccine.
The CDC still suggests wearing a face covering in crowded indoor settings such as homeless shelters, hospitals, prisons, hospitals, planes and buses.
The other change involves permission to go mask less outdoors in crowds.
Along with the 117 Americans who have been fully vaccinated against COVID, roughly 154 more have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
The Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees voted Thursday to loosen the face covering requirements for the upcoming graduation ceremonies and at the start of summer programs.
