Six different players had a goal as the Maine Nordiques defeated the New Jersey Titans 6-3 in a North American Hockey League East Division contest at the Middletown Ice World Arena in Middletown, New Jersey on Friday night.
Stefan Owens, Caper Soderling and Tristan Fasig each had a goal and an assist for the Nordiques.
“Every line contributed a goal, our power play got one and our (penalty kill was phenomenal,” Maine Nordiques coach Nolan Howe said. “We gave up one with four seconds left (on the penalty) on our last kill. Special teams were fantastic and I thought our (defense) had a great game, too, with Ty (Outen) in net. It was a complete team effort.”
The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed goaltender
Peyton Jones to a one-year contract for the 2020-21 season. Jones will report to the Colorado Eagles of the American Hockey League.
Jones, 24, began the 2020-21 campaign with the ECHL s Utah Grizzlies and has a 4-2-1 record through eight games with a 3.10 goals-against average and .889 save percentage.
The Langhorne, Pennsylvania, native played four seasons at Penn State University from 2016-2020, finishing his career as the program s all-time leader in games played/started (133), wins (76), saves (3,685) and shutouts (four) while ranking second all-time in goals-against average (2.88) and save percentage (.907). His 42 career victories in the Big Ten are a conference record while his eight tournament victories rank second all-time.
Black Hawks Fall In Overtime-Back In Party Town This Weekend

According to a team game re-cap, the Lancers scored the game-winning goal during their seventh power play of the night. In overtime, a loose puck came to Nolan Renwick in the left circle, and he lifted a shot inside the post beating the Black Hawks goalie Charlie Glockner. O’Hara scored once in each period. Trailing 3-2, O Hara redirected a Jonah Copre shot into the net. O Hara also struck early in the game, for the game’s first goal not quite five minutes into the opening period. Matt Argentina saw O’Hara coming up the slot and put a pass on target. O’Hara snapped the puck over the left shoulder of the league’s leading goaltender, Jakub Dobes. And in the 2nd period, Max Sasson tried a shot that was batted down by an Omaha player and it came right to O’Hara as he stepped from behind the net beating Dobes.

SIOUX CITY, IA (KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede were outmatched 6-2 in their third game in three days against the Sioux City Musketeers at the Tyson Events Center Saturday night. The four-goal second period by the Musketeers made the difference, while Cole Sillinger and J.P. Turner scored for Sioux Falls.
The Sioux City Musketeers scored in the first period for the second straight game off the stick of Joel Maatta. Justin Hryckowian scored twice to open the second period to put Sioux City up 3-0. Kirklan Irey and Matteo Costantini continued to dominate the Herd defense with a goal apiece for the 5-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the second.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) Sioux Falls Stampede defenseman Brent Johnson scored twice in the 5-1 win over the Waterloo Black Hawks at the PREMIER Center Friday night. Alternate captain Will Dineen added a pair to give the Herd the advantage. Goaltender Noah Grannan made the start in net and earned the victory to end a two-game losing streak.
After scoring a goal last weekend against the Fargo Force, United States Hockey League defenseman of the week Brent Johnson began the night with his fourth goal of the season at the 4:40 mark of the first period. Defenseman Dante Fantauzzi and point-leader Garrett Pinoniemi provided the assist on the shot from the blue line. The Herd held the 1-0 lead through the remaining sixteen minutes of the period.
